New Gallery Exhibition 1951

Here is a poster for Edwin's second solo exhibition, at the New Gallery, Edinburgh in August and September 1951. The exhibition focused on "New Paintings" and about 45 of the 58 paintings were either newly painted (since his exhibition the previous year) or never exhibited before.​ To mark the 70th anniversary, Pictures of the Month featured 12 paintings from this exhibition during 2021. Click here to see the first, then click the <NEXT button to move through the paintings.
