City Bridges, 1951
Edwin applied a kind of Cubist style to the tenement buildings of the Old Town of Edinburgh in a number of works he painted in 1950 and 1951. This one was probably the painting entitled City Streets in his solo exhibition at the New Gallery, Edinburgh in August and September 1951. He renamed it City Bridges in the 1980s.
