Farm Buildings on Culloden Moor, 1944

Continuing the theme of the Conscience Matters exhibition at the Scottish War Museum in Edinburgh Castle, 8 Mar 2019 - 26 Jan 2020, Edwin painted Farm Buildings on Culloden Moor when he was working at Raigmore Hospital during WW2.

Edwin felt very isolated as a conscientious objector during the war. When he had spare time he went walking with his watercolours and sketching materials. This is one of a number of paintings he did of farmland near Raigmore.
