Winter Landscape, Kingsknowe, 1948

During 2020, Pictures of the Month marked the 70th anniversary of Edwin's first solo exhibition by featuring 12 of the paintings he exhibited in April 1950.

This is another of the six paintings that were inspired by the same view of the Pentland Hills from Kingsknowe. It was painted in 1948 and is entitled "From Kingsknowe, Looking S.E., Morning Mist in Winter" in the exhibition catalogue. The Pentland Hills are only just visible through the mist.
