Edwin's first exhibition in England was held at the Beecroft Art Gallery in Southend-on-Sea from 10 June to 10 Sep 2023. Leading up to and during the exhibition, Picture of the Month featured some works that were being exhibited to a large audience for the first time.
It was the first time this striking self portrait had been exhibited since Edwin's first solo exhibition, in 1950. It is undated, but painted circa 1947 because the two paintings in the background were painted in 1946 and 1947.
