Mossy Mill, circa 1940

Edwin's first exhibition in England was held at the Beecroft Art Gallery in Southend-on-Sea from 10 June to 10 Sep 2023. Leading up to and during the exhibition, Picture of the Month featured some works that had seldom been exhibited before.

This may be the work entitled "Mossy Mill, near Edinburgh" that Edwin exhibited at the Society of Scottish Artists annual exhibition in 1940. Mossy Mill was founded in 1664 and operated as a paper mill from 1838 until it closed in 1972.
