Wester Hailes from Baberton, 1939
Anyone who knows Edinburgh today may be surprised that there used to be a farm at Wester Hailes. This is one of several watercolours Edwin painted of the view from Baberton towards Wester Hailes in the 1930s and 1940s.
The picture below shows a small ink sketch that he probably used for reference when painting the watercolour.
