Moray Place & Ainsley Place from Lennox Street

This painting is untitled and undated, but it shows the backs of the houses in Moray Place & Ainsley Place in Edinburgh's New Town. The viewpoint is from the South end of Lennox Street, close to Ann Street where Edwin lived from the time he married in 1952, so the painting probably dates from the 1950s. The trees in the foreground lie within the Dean Gardens, a place Edwin often visited after he moved to Ann Street.
