Flour Mill Dam, Juniper Green, 1946

This was a favourite subject of Edwin's, the weir of the old flour mill on the Water of Leith, a little downstream of Juniper Green station. He painted it several times, but this one is unique in its geometric treatment of the pool. The weir itself is at the far end of the pool, where the river bends to the right. The mill is hidden behind the yellow tree.
